Donna Hunter Donna Hunter is a physical therapy assistant with OrthoTennessee. She received an associate’s degree in physical therapy assistance from South College in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Donna has been a physical therapy assistant since 2002. She describes her role in the clinic as implementing the plan of care established by the physical therapist. She says she also educates and motivates the patient using exercise to progress the patient towards her/his physical therapy goals.

Donna was motivated to become a physical therapist assistant after her grandfather had a stroke.

“When I was young I was always trying to help him,” Donna says. She says she was also very athletic and believes that the combination of exercise plus health care equals physical therapy assistance.

What Donna says she most enjoys about her work is seeing her patients overcome obstacles and return to doing activities they love.

“I like to know I’ve helped them achieve their goal,” Donna says. She also likes meeting people as part of her work.

In her spare time, she likes dancing, horseback riding, snorkeling, remodeling old houses, boating, activities with friends and family.
