William Kenneth Bell, M.D.

William Kenneth Bell, M.D. was raised in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1968. He received a B.S. in Engineering Physics from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Bell completed his medical degree at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in 1976. His rotating internship and general surgery internship was completed at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. His four-year orthopaedic residency was completed in 1981 at the Willis C. Campbell Clinic/University of Tennessee in Memphis. He has been in private practice with Maryville Orthopaedic Clinic since 1982.

Dr. Bell has been actively involved in leadership roles with Blount Memorial Hospital and the Maryville community. He served on the Maryville City School Board for eight years where he was Chairman of the School Board for four of those years. Dr. Bell also served on the Maryville City Council for four years. He is currently a committee member for Blount County Young Life.

Dr. Bell has been the team physician for Maryville College since 1982. He is also the Medical Director of Mountain Challenge.

Dr. Bell and his wife, Patty, reside in Maryville. They have four sons. Some of his personal interests are wilderness medicine, traveling, hiking, biking, triathlons and marathons.
