Robert R. Madigan, M.D.
Pediatric & Adolescent Specialist
The son of a general surgeon, and the father of an orthopedic resident, the three generations of Madigan physicians have made a commitment to medicine that has spanned 70 years. Dr. Robert Madigan’s personal commitment has included becoming the first volunteer children’s orthopedic consultant to Green Valley Development Center of East Tennessee; being a member of the steering committee that secured a permanent home stable for the S.T.A.R. riding program for crippled children; being the founder and first chairman of the Partners in Pediatrics, a liaison association between health care providers, insurance providers, and hospital personnel.
In a non-medical capacity, Dr. Madigan served as Chairman of the Civil Service Merit Board of the City of Knoxville for 12 years.
Natives of Pennsylvania, Dr. and Mrs. Madigan have adopted East Tennessee, raising three children here; Amy, an attorney in Atlanta, Robin, the Vice-President of the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore, and Luke, an orthopedic resident at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Dr. Madigan’s alma mater.
