Amber G. Luhn, M.D.

Pediatric Sports Medicine

Dr. Amber Luhn was born in East Ridge, Tennessee, and grew up in Watkinsville, Georgia. After graduating magna cum laude with a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Georgia in Athens, she went on to complete her medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. While there, she served as a member of the Student Government Association and earned the Harry O’Rear Outstanding Student in Pediatrics. Following an internship and residency in General Pediatrics in Augusta, Dr. Luhn completed a fellowship in Pediatric Primary Care Sports Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. While doing her fellowship training, she served as assistant team physician at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She also earned the opportunity to speak on the female athlete triad for the Women’s Virtual Library at UTHSCSA and was invited to present her research abstract at the American College of Sports Medicine National Meeting in Denver, Colorado.

As a pediatric sports medicine specialist, Dr. Luhn enjoys helping young athletes overcome or manage their medical conditions to return to play and take their sport to the next level. Using her talent in science to help others, Dr. Luhn especially appreciates the energy and motivation of the young patients she has the opportunity to treat.

Dr. Luhn and her husband, a Knoxville native, are the proud parents of one young daughter. In her leisure time, Dr. Luhn enjoys spending time with her family, participating in church activities, reading, traveling, singing, jogging, hiking, skiing, playing softball, and watching football. She is also looking forward to serving as a team physician for Knoxville area high schools.
